Yoga 101: Foundations
This class is great for anyone that is beginning their yoga practice or just looking to refresh.
Real Yoga. Real People.
In this 6-class series, we will explore the basics of yoga including safe alignment for postures, breathing techniques for relaxation, basic yoga vocabulary (Sanskrit) and studio etiquette, and the mind-body connection.
Yoga 101 is tailored to both the student new to yoga and the student who is returning to yoga and looking for a refresher – regardless of your fitness level or flexibility.
Moving slowly through the fundamentals of yoga, students will enjoy the benefits of increased flexibility, stress relief and general conditioning.

Possible workshops include:
Chakra Tune-Up: Exploring our Chakras through Yoga, Meditation and Discussion – In this 7-class series, we will explore a different chakra each week through a 45-minute yoga practice targeting that chakra, and chanting and meditation session focusing on the seed sound and imagery of that chakra and a discussion period of the chakra and its various attributes.
Yoga Jocks – A 6-week yoga series targeted for male athletes. Through this practice of yoga, athletes not only increase flexibility and physical strength but also improve balance, breath work, reduce stress, heighten mental focus, and connect the mind and body. Most athletes feel immediate benefits. Class will explore the foundational poses of yoga (asana), basic pranayama (breath work) and also incorporate restorative yoga. No prior yoga experience required.
Introduction to Essential Oils – Your Journey to Natural Mind/Body Wellness – A special evening to learn more about the many applications and wonderful benefits of essential oils for you and your family. We will enjoy a short aroma yoga practice followed by an exploration of some sample oils and a fun “make and take” session in which we will make an natural essential oil alternative to a common chemical product for our home or skin. StillPoint Yoga Studio is a proud distributor of Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils.
